Beginning in June 2011, The Big Blue Alligator Campaign will become
The Big Blue Alligator Tour 2011!
In 2011 we will be taking the book, The Conjure Man, to Blues festivals all across the country and we will be taking YOUR music with us. If you are interested in participating, download a FREE copy of The Conjure Man (Click HERE for your FREE copy), read the book and then write a song or two reflecting your experience with the novel. Most of the musicians who are particiapting are Blues musicians because the atmosphere of the novel resonates with the sound of the Blues. But there are a few Jazz and Bluegrass musicians who have been inspired to write music as well. We will put together a CD of the best of this music to share with all of the festival goers we encounter.* Write, record, and submit as many songs as you like. We will also provide an opportunity for music lovers to download any and/or all of the "Conjure Man" songs.
(NOTE: You will retain the copyright to your music at all times! If your music is selected to be part of the CD package, you will get to share in the profits from the sale of the CDs. If your song is one of 16 songs selected, you will receive 1/16th of the net proceeds, if you have two of 16 songs selected, then you will receive 2/16ths of the net proceeds, etc. If there are 24 songs in the CD package, the shares will be adjusted accordingly, etc.)
